Having healthy hair is essential for our overall health and wellness. But finding the right products for your hair and scalp isn’t always so simple. That’s why we developed our CBD shampoo and conditioner because we’ve experienced just what this cannabinoid can do for hair. Trust us, we need to share.

And the latest research backs up our experience: CBD may promote hair growth and overall health. Keep reading to find out how you can make the most of CBD’s benefits for your hair.

Healthy Hair Starts with a Healthy Scalp

When your scalp is healthy, chances are you don’t think about it much. But when it’s unhealthy, it’s hard to forget about! Scalp health is vital for healthy hair because each strand of hair relies on a healthy environment on the scalp to grow.

The most common symptoms of an unhealthy scalp are itching, redness, flakiness, and hair loss. All these symptoms are signs of inflammation: Something isn’t right. Common conditions with these symptoms include dandruff, dermatitis, and psoriasis.

Left untreated, inflammation on the scalp can eventually lead to permanent hair loss. It also leaves your hair dull, rough, and prone to breakage. However, you can do plenty of things to improve your scalp and hair health. They include:

  • Using gentle, natural products that don’t have harsh ingredients like sulfates
  • Not washing your hair every day: 3-4 times per week is plenty
  • Eating more antioxidants from fruit and vegetables

Does CBD Shampoo and Conditioner Promote Healthy Hair?

Recently, CBD hair products have generated a buzz, promising to improve scalp and hair health. We know there can be lots of hype around the benefits of CBD, so we want to help you separate fact from the fiction.

There is evidence that CBD could be beneficial for skin health, including inflammatory disorders such as psoriasis and eczema, which affect the scalp. Because we have endocannabinoid receptors in our skin, researchers are interested in how cannabinoids can affect our skin health.

The Latest Research on CBD for Hair Growth

In 2021, a study called “Hair Regrowth with CBD-Rich Hemp Extract” was published. The researchers tracked 35 people with hair loss from alopecia over six months. They each used a hemp oil extract containing three to four miligrams of CBD, which they applied topically to their scalp daily.

They concluded that “on average there was a statistically significant 93.5% increase in hair after 6 months. All subjects had some regrowth. There were no reported adverse effects.” These results are exciting and suggest that CBD has the potential to be a valuable tool for hair health.

It’s important to mention some caveats, though. There isn’t much other research on CBD for hair growth, so more studies are needed. And in this study, participants were experiencing hair loss due to alopecia. CBD may have a different effect on people experiencing other scalp problems.

How to get the most out of your haircare

Using CBD for hair and scalp health is relatively new, and we’ll learn more as more research is carried out. In the meantime, however, CBD is widely considered safe for skin and scalp use, and there are great products available.

We created our Let It Grow Shampoo and Let it Grow Conditioner because we believe in their benefits for hair and scalp health. We combined CBD from hemp extract with AnaGainTM, a formula created from organic pea sprouts that’s proven to enhance hair growth.

To get the most out of CBD shampoo and conditioner, we recommend using them together 3-4 times per week. Any more than that, and you will start to strip the natural oils from your hair and scalp.

Before using, shake the bottle well. Then, gently massage the shampoo into wet hair (don’t scrub too hard!) for at least one minute. Then, rinse and follow up with your conditioner. Make sure to leave the conditioner in your hair for one to three minutes for maximum benefit.

Avoid using other harsh products on your hair once it’s clean. And make sure to use a heat protectant if you like to blow dry or straighten your hair.

CBD Can Help Your Hair and Scalp Health

Research on CBD for hair growth and health is only just emerging, but the first results are promising. CBD hair products are safe and easy to use, and research has shown they can increase hair growth in just a few months.
