Frequently Asked Questions
Cannabidiol (CBD) is an all-natural compound called a cannabinoid, which is found in hemp. It's non-intoxicating, legal, safe, and generally well-tolerated.
The U.S. legalized the cultivation, processing, and sale of hemp and hemp extracts when it passed the 2018 Farm Bill. Legal hemp contains under 0.3 percent THC.
No. Although CBD is related to THC, it is non-intoxicating. It interacts with different receptors in the body and does not cause a high or otherwise altered state of mind.
CBD and other cannabinoids interact with our endocannabinoid system, or ECS. This little-known system was first discovered in 1992 and consists of a body-wide network of receptors and chemical communications. The ECS manages sleep, mood, appetite, inflammation, pain, and other critical systems.
Like all other cannabinoids, CBD interacts with this system in many ways, mimicking our endocannabinoids (cannabinoids our body manufacturers). CBD has what researchers call a "low affinity" to bind directly with our endocannabinoid receptors. However, it still interacts with our receptors, encouraging them to return to a calm homeostatic state.
Just like CBD interacts with the endocannabinoid receptors in our body, it also interacts with receptors in our epidermis (skin). When used as a topical, CBD has a very localized effect and does not penetrate the skin to absorb into the bloodstream.
Hemp oil is extracted from hemp seeds and contains nutritionally beneficial oils like omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids. Hemp oil contains no detectable cannabinoids, including CBD.
CBD oil is an extraction from hemp flowers and biomass. CBD oil contains high concentrations of cannabinoids, primarily CBD.
Our products undergo rigorous third-party testing to confirm quality, cannabinoid contents, and safety. The results, as detailed in a Certificate of Analysis, are available on every product label and on request. Please email us at email@example.com to request a COA.
The ideal dose of CBD oil is different for everyone. Low and slow is the way to start. Start with the lowest recommended dose described on the packaging, and use the same amount for several days to assess the effects. Adjust as needed. For a larger dose, split it up into a few small doses throughout the day.
When it comes to CBD topicals, review the instructions on the label for dose and application instructions. For all beauty products, we recommend patch testing a small amount on the underside of your wrist first.
